Charles Bryan
 Know all Men by these presents that I

Jeremiah Townley Chase of the City of
Annapolis for divers good Causes & Considerations me
thereunto moving do hereby manumit set free & Discharge
Charles Bryan from my service  In witness whereof I
have hereto set my hand and Seal this twenty fourth
day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and ninety eight

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt
Dec.r 24.th 1798  Then Came the within named Jeremiah
Townley Chase before me the subscriber a Justice of the
peace for Ann Arundel County and Acknowledged the
within Instrument of manumission to be his Deed

Negro Robert
 Gerrard Plummer of Ann Arundel

County in the State of Maryland
Do hereby set free from bondage my negro boy named
Robert when he arrives to the age of twenty one years
which will be in the twelfth month eighteen hundred
and thirteen and do for my self Executors & Administrators
release unto the said negro boy Robert all claim
whatsoever or to his person or to any Estate he may
acquire hereby Declaring the said negro absolutely
claiming under me after he arrives to age of twenty one
years  In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and Seal this sixteenth of first
                                                 month
