314 to be his act and deed for the purpose within mentioned and the slaves within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before Recorded 15th may 1807 James H. Marriott To all whom it may Concern. Be it Known that I Thomas Elms of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto Moving do hereby release from Slavery manumit and Set free my Negroe Woman Rachel Williams and all her Children or Offspring in Manner following. That is to Say Rachel Williams to be released from slavery liberated Manumitted and set free in May one thousand eight hundred and sixteen also her Child Rebecca born August 1806 to be released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free when the Said Rebecca shall be and arrive at the age of twenty one years likewise all the Children which the the said Rachel shall have during her Servitude to be released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free the females at the age of twenty one years and the Males at the age of twenty five years old hereby declaring the said Negroes from the periods of time above written to be free manumitted and discharged from all Manner of Servitude or Service to me my Executors or administrators forever Signed Sealed and delivered In the presence of Thos Elms (seal) R G Stockett John Martin |
