306. paid do release from slavery liberate manumit and set free on the first day of September eighteen hundred and eleven and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free at the time above mentioned my negro woman named Ione being of the age of thirty four years and able to gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Ione I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged at the time above mentioned from all manner of services to me my executors administrators or assigns forever. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal this 23.d day of march 1807 Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Rich.d Merriken (L) Theophilus F. Dougherty, Samuel Stubins On the baack of the aforegoing was thus endorsed sc.t Baltimore county Sct on the 23d day of march 1807 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid Richard Merriken party to the foregoing instrument of writing and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged at the time specified in said manumission from him or any other person claiming under him Acknowledged before Theophilus F. Dougherty March 23.d 1807 then received of m.r John Donalson the sum of 110 doll.s it being the full consideration money within mentioned Richard Merriken Recorded 11.th may 1807 |
