304 my seale this thirteenth day of april eighteen hundred and seven her Signed Sealed in the Betty + Green (seal) presence of mark James H. Marriott Rachel J. Marriott On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit A. A. county to wit. on the 13.th day of april 1807 personally appears the above named Betty Green party to the within instrument of writing before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned according to an act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Recorded 25.th April 1807 James H. Marriott To all whom it may concern be it known that I John Smith of Anne Arundel county in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Susanna Smith being of the age of twenty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Susanna Smith I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever.
