297. Ex.d 2¼ Maryland Sc.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting I Thomas Morton of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations thereunto me moving do hereby declare free manumated and enfranchised negro Nacy on the first day of october eighteen hundred and seventeen hereby acknowledging the said Negro discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors and administrators from and after the time above mentioned. Nevertheless should the said Nacy willfull waste his time so as to give his master just Cause of complaint he then shall make it good agreeable to the judgment of two or three impartial judges chosen for that purpose one by each party In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this third day of November 1806 Signed Sealed & Delivered Tho.s Morton (seal) in the presence of Sam Harrison on the back of the aforegoing Eleanor Harrison was thus endorsed Anne Arundel County Sc.t on the 3.d day of November 1806 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid Thomas Morton party to the within instrument of writing who acknowledged the said instrument to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereunto annexed to be respectively his taken and acknowledged before Recorded November 4 1806 Sam Harrison Exd State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct To all whom it may concern Be it known that for divers good causes me thereunto moving I Elizabeth Oliver of the county aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreeably to the Terms herein after specified |
