295. Ex.d I William Ward of the State of maryland and County of Anne Arundel do hereby set free from bondage my negro woman named Charlott aged about sixteen years and do for myself my executors and administrators released unto the said Charlott all my right and all claims whatsoever as to her person or to any estate she may acquire hereby declaring the said Charlott absolutely free with out any interruption from me or any person claiming under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Six William Ward Sen.r (seal) Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Araminta Harrison on the back of the aforegoing was Joseph G. Harrison thus endorsed August 26.th 1806. Anne Arundel County to wit then Came William Ward before me one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to an Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before me Recorded Sept 12 1806 Sam.l Harrison Jun.r Ex.d To all whom it may concern be it Known that I Benjamin Drummer of Anne Arundel County for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving and also in further consideration of five shillings Currency to me in hand paid have released from Slavery manumitted and set free the following negro woman to wit Roscetta Drummer aged forty four years and do declare the said negro woman Roscetta Drummer to be hence forth free manumated and discharged from |
