291 Exam.d d.d To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I James Booth of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for divers good Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of five pounds Current Money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and do by these presents hereby release from slavery manumit and Set free my negroes hereafter named that is to say my daughter Negro Dinah aged thirty five years also my Grandson James aged Twelve years also Kitty aged ten years also Rachel aged Eight years also Rezin aged four years also Sucky aged sixteen years the above Negroes being my daughter and my Grand Children which I purchased from the Estate of Samuel Chew. I do ^hereby^ declare the above mentioned negroes to be free manumitted and discharged after my death and not before from all manner of servitude to my Executors administrators or assigns and from all persons whatever claiming them under me In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 16 day of January 1807 James Signed Sealed & delivered his + mark (seal) In the presence Boothe Gideon White Samuel Peaco |
