(292) on the back of the aforegoing was thus Endorsed (to wit) Received on the day and date above mentioned the sum of five pounds Current Money being the full Consideration of the above Instrument of writing Witness his Gideon White James x Boothe mark Anne Arundel County Viz on the 16 day of January 1807 came James Boothe before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Negroes therein mentioned to be free and manumitted after his Deceased according to the Acts of Assembly in such cases made and provided Gideon White Recorded the 20 January 1807 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Smith Brice of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of five pounds Current Money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby ^release from slavery liberate manumit &^ set free my Negro woman named ^Rachel^ and her Child Daniel being (of) |
