290 by him sold to me by bill of sale dated the twenty fifth day of June Eighteen hundred and five and at the same time delivered unto my possession. And her my said Daughter Esther I do hereby declare to be henceforth from this day absolutely free manumitted and discharged from all manner of Servitude or Service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this fourteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and Seven Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of us Jockey Wheeler (seal) Theophilus F. Dougherty owen Dorsey On the back of the aforegoing manumission was thus Endorsed To wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County To wit Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and Seven personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the said County Jockey Wheeler and acknowledged the Within deed of Manumission to be his act and deed and the Negro Slave therein mentioned to be henceforth absolutely manumitted and free Acknowledged before & Certified by Francis Holland Recorded the 15 of Janry 1807 |
