288 Exam.d d.d Know all men by these Presents That I Horatio divers good Causes me thereunto moving and for the Consideration of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have manumitted liberated and set free. And by these presents Do for myself my heirs and Assigns manumit liberate and set free a certain negro man named jim or james Richardson and aged thirty Eight years And I do hereby to all intents and purposes whatsoever discharge the said Jim or James Richardson from all and every kind of right title Claim or demand that in Law or Equity I my heirs or Assigns might or Could have in the person or to the service of him the said Jim or James Richardson. And I do hereby warrant and defend the freedom or liberty of said Jim or James Richardson unto him from and against myself my heirs and Assigns and all persons claiming by through or under me or them. In Testimony whereof I have here unto these Presents Sent my Hands and affix my seal on this eighth day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and Seven Signed Sealed and delivered In the presence of Jo Gibson Horatio Ridout (seal) H P Gibson Anne Arundel County To wit I Hereby Certify that on this Eighth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Seven the within named Horatio Ridout personally appeared |
