287 Do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free one Negro man Named Tom Hall age unknown He being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance and him the said Negro man named Tom Hall We do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of Servitude or Service to us our Executors or Administrators forever In Testimony whereof We have hereunto Set our hands and affixed our Seals this 26 July 1806 Signed Sealed & delivered Edward Hall (seal) In the presence of Cha D Hodges Mord Hall (seal) Susanna W C Watts Henry Hall (seal) On the back of the foregoing was thus Endorsed Vizt Received 26 July 1806 The sum of two hundred dollars Current money it being the full Consideration money above mentioned Edwd Hall Mord Hall Henry Hall Anne arundel County To wit on this 26 day of July 1806 personally appears Edward Mordecia and Henry Hall partys to the within instrument of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the Said County & acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the Negro man ^within^ named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all Services to us or to any Claiming under us and to be free & manumitted according to the Act of Assembly in Such Cases made & provided Acknowledged before Recorded 16th of Augt 1806 Cha D Hodges |
