on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed To wit
             Received on the day of the date above mentioned
the sum of twelve pounds ten shillings and three pence
Current money it being the full Consideration money above
mentioned                                                his

Ann Arundel County To wit
                                      On this nineteenth day of
August Eighteen hundred and six personally appears
James Booth party to the above instrument of writing before
me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of
Maryland for the said County and Acknowledged the same to
be his act and deed for the purposes above mentioned and
the negro man above named to be henceforth manumitted
and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming
under him and to be free and manumitted according to
the act of assembly in such Case made and provided
