286 on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed To wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of twelve pounds ten shillings and three pence Current money it being the full Consideration money above mentioned his James X Booth mark Ann Arundel County To wit On this nineteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and six personally appears James Booth party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and Acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes above mentioned and the negro man above named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such Case made and provided Acknowledged before Gideon White Recorded the 19th of August 1806 3 sides Examd d.d To all whom it may Concern Be it known That we Edward Hobb Mordeica and Henny Hall of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of two hundred dollars Current money to us in hand paid have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents (Do) |
