285 in the year one thousand eight hundred & six before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid personally appeared Thomas Munroe within named & acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed Gideon White Recorded 13.th August 1806 Exd d.d To all whom it may Concern Be it Known that I James Boothe of anne arundel County and State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also further Consideration of twelve pounds ten shillings and three pence Current Money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Henry Foote being of the age of forty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Henry Foote I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators or Assigns forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this nineteenth day of august in the year of our lord one thousand Eighteen hundred and six Signed Sealed and delivered his in the presence of James X Boothe (seal) Gideon White mark John M Sewell |
