278 Whereas I Elisha Harrison of anne arundel county in the state of Maryland did on the tenth day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and Six bargain and sell to Peter Hagner of the City of Washington in the District of Columbia a Mulatto Man named James aged about twenty five years from the said tenth day of April to the first day of October which will be in the year Eighteen hundred and ten Now I the said Elisha Harrison for divers good Causes me thereunto moving doth hereby Manumit and Set free the said mulatto man named James from me my heirs Executors administrators and Assigns and all every person or persons whatever who may or shall claim him from or after the said first day of October in the year eighteen hundred and ten to enjoy and Exercise his liberty in what manner he may think proper without being under the Contract of me or any person who may Claim under me.
