251 Examd Maryland Sc.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting I John Armiger of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes & Considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare Free manumit and Enfranchise negro Horatio Hereby Acknowledging the Said negro Horatio free & forever discharged from all Claim of Service & right of property whatsoever from me my heirs Executors and administrators and that the said negro shall from this day act for himself & Enjoy his freedom without hindrance As Witness my hand & seal this 17th day of August one thousand eight hundred and five Signed sealed & delivered In the presence of Richard G. Hutton Jno Armiger (seal) Benjn Allein On the back of the foregoing was thus Endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County On the seventeenth day of August one thousand eight hundred & five Personally Appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid the above named John Armiger Party the above Instrument of writing and Acknowledged the said Instrument of writing to be his act & deed & the signature I thereunto annexed to be respectively his Benjn Allein Recorded 27th of November 1805 |
