Maryland for divers good Causes & Considerations me thereunto moving Do hereby Declare free manumit and enfranchise the negroes following to wit negro Joe negro Titus, Isaac negro Bet to be free the first of november in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred likewise negro Nan to be free from the date hereof also negro Janney to be free the first day of november one thousand eight hundred and eight as also negro Little Joe to be free the first day of november in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen likewise negro Daniel to be free in the year 1816 negro Henry to be free in the year 1818 as also negro John to be free in the year of our Lord 1820 likewise negro Tim sold to John Eager Howard of Baltimore County to be free in the year 1805 august the 18 also negro Bill sold to Nathan Chapman in Baltimore County to be free January 13th day 1818 the Children also of the females are free born hereby acknowledging the said negroes Discharged from all Claim of Service & right of property whatever from me my heirs Executors or administrators as witness my hand & Seal this third day of May 1798 as also negro Sam to be free in the year of our Lord 1808 Cha.s Elder (Seal) Test Thomas Hobbs |
