249 named Lydia I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this fifth day of november eighteen hundred and five Signed Sealed & delivered In the presence of us Gideon White Richard Cromwell (seal) Joshua C Higgins On the back of the aforegoing was thus Endorsed Vizt Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five shillings Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned witness Richard Cromwell (Seal) Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this fifth day of November eighteen hundred & five personally appears Richard Cromwell party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and Acknowledges the same to be his Act & deed for the purposes within mentioned & the negro Woman within named to be henceforth manumitted & discharged from all services to him or any Claiming under him & to be free & manumitted according to the Act of Assembly in such Cases made & provided Acknowledged before Recorded 5th Novr 1805 Gideon White |
