On the back of the aforegoing was thus Endorsed to wit

    Anne Arundel County to wit
                   Be it remembered that on this fifth day
of november eighteen hundred and five personally appears
Richard Cromwell Party to the within Instrument
of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace
for the state of maryland for the said County & Acknowledges
the Same to be his Act & deed for the purposes
within mentioned and the negro man within mentioned
after the period aforesaid to be manumitted & discharged
from all Services to him or to any Claiming
under him and to be free & manumitted according
to the Act of Assembly in Such Case made & provided
                                     Acknowledged before

       To all whom it may Concern be it known that I
Richard Cromwell of Anne Arundel County in the State of
Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me
thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of
five shillings Current money to me in hand paid have
released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free
and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery
liberate manumit and set free my negro Woman
