said eighth day of August Eighteen hundred and fifteen
Witness my hand and seal this Eighth day of August

was thus endorsed to wit

Anne Arundel County Sc.t  On this eighth day of August
Eighteen hundred and five   Personally appeared before
me the Subscriber one of the justices of the Peace of
for Anne Arundel County aforesaid Joshua mayo party
to the above Instrument of writing & did acknowledge
the same to be his Act and deed & the negro therein
named to be free according to the intent & meaning
thereof
