223 free 1st day of January 1827 Hereby acknowledged The Said negroes discharged from all claim of service & Right of property whatever from me my heirs Executors or administrators As witness my hand & seal this twenty sixth day of March in the Blessed year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & five Signed Sealed & acknowledged Wm Weems (seal) In the presence of Henry Childs Jno O L Jones On the back of the foregoing was thus Endorsed to wit Ann Arundel County 26th of march 1805 THe Came William Weems Before me one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged The above to be his Act & Deed for the true purpose and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the 26th march 1805 4½ Henry Childs Exam.d To all persons to whom these presents may Concern Know ye that I Bennett Darnall of Portland Manor Anne Arundel County for divers good Causes & Considerations have Emancipated and Set in full Liberty and Freedom the following negroes to wit negroe Benjamin David William Philip Henry and Nicholas & Each of them and by these presents do Emancipate and set in full Liberty the said Benjamin David William Philip Henry & Nicholas & Each of them and their future Encrease and I the said Bennett Darnall (for) |
