196 to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged Before Recorded 31.st July 1804 James Mackubin Maryland Sc.t Know all men by these presents that I John Thomas of Anne Arundel County in the State of aforesaid for divers considerations me hereto moving have manumitted and forever set free and discharged from all right claim and demand whatever of me my Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns; and by these presents do manumitt set free and discharge from me my Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns a Negro Woman named Camilla and her Five Children to wit Mary Harriett Tom Peter and William and all her and their future Issue: and I do from henceforth and for ever renounce all right whatever to them or to either of them Witness my hand and seal this Seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Four Signed Sealed and Delivered Jn.o Thomas (seal) in presence of W.m Harwood On the back of the aforegoing Rich.d G. Rawlings was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County Sc.t On the Seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid John Thomas and Acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be his act and Deed and the above named Negroes to be absolutely manumitted set free and discharged.
