County Viz.t Be it remembered that on the 30.th day of may 1804 personally appeared John Ouchterling Jones before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and said negro Nace to be free at the expiration of the time within mentioned from all services to him or any person claiming under him according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before Lewis Duvall Recorded the 30.th day of May 1804 To all whom it may concern be it known that I William Prout of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Richard Prout being of the age twenty three years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the |
