170 therein mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Lewis Duvall Recorded the 19th day of January 1804 Ex.d To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Margaret Sprigg of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving and also in further consideration of one hundred Dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Beck being of the age of thirty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Beck I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever.
