On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t
Received on the day of the date within mentioned
the sum of one hundred dollars current money
being the full consideration money within mentioned
Witness                                             his
Lewis Duvall                         Thomas + Folks
                                                        mark

Anne Arundel County sc.  Be it remembered that
on this eleventh day of January in the year of
our lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Four
personally appears Thomas Folks party to the
within instrument of writing before me the
subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State
of Maryland for the said County and acknowledged
the same to be his act and deed for the purposes
within mentioned and the negro man within
named to be henceforth manumitted and
discharged from all services to him or to
any claiming under him and to be free
and manumitted according to the act of
assembly in such cases made and provided
                              acknowledged before
                                     Lewis Duvall
Recorded the 12th day of January 1804

To all whom it may concern be it known that I
William Prout of Ann Arundel County in the State
of Maryland for divers good causes and
considerations me thereunto moving as also
in further consideration of five shillings
