167 on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the thirteenth day of December 1803 Ninian Pinkney came before me one of the aldermen for the City of Annapolis and acknowledged the true intent and meaning thereof Reverdy Ghiselin alderman of the City of Annapolis Recorded the 13.th day of December 1803 Ex.d To all whom it may concern be it known That I Thomas Folks of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one hundred Dollars current money to me in hand paid Have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents Do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man name Samuel Haywood and him the said negro man named Samuel Haywood I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever.
