149. Ex.d To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Sarah L. Lane of Ann Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one hundred pounds current money to me paid in hand by Samuel Chew have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents Do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumitt and set free my negro man named William being about the age of twenty one years provided he the said William shall faithfully serve the said Samuel Chew eight years from the twenty fifth day of January Eighteen hundred and Three and in case the said negro William should abscond from the said Samuel Chew he is not to be free untill he shall serve said Samuel Chew his heirs or assigns the time before mentioned and in consideration of the faithfull fullfilment of the before written considerations I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged my aforementioned negro man William from all manner of servitudge or service to me my executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Twenty ninth day of July Eighteen hundred and Three Signed Sealed and delivered In presence of Sarah L.
