150 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Received on the day the date within mentioned the sum of one hundred pounds current money it being the full consideration within mentioned Witness Benj.n Allein Sarah L. Lane (seal) Tho.s H. Chew Be it remembered that on this Twenty ninth day of July one Thousand Eight hundred and Three personally appears Sarah L. Lane party to the within instrument of writing before me a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named after serving Samuel Chew his heirs or assigns the term within mentioned to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to her or to any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before Benj.a Allein Recorded 4.th August 1803 Ex.d Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Bond of Ann Arundel County for divers causes and considerations me hereunto moving have manumitted and sett free and by these presents do manumit and forever sett free from me |
