146 Arundel County and State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby free manumitt and Enfranchise the negroes following To wit: negro Abraham aged about Twenty seven years to be free from the twentieth day of July Eighteen hundred and four negroe James aged about Twenty five years to be free from the twentieth day of January Eighteen hundred and five negro woman Clemm aged about twenty seven years to be free from the twentieth day of July Eighteen hundred and Three negroe children Nell and Harriott aged about nine months to be free they and their increase forever from the twentieth day of July Eighteen hundred and nineteen It is to be understood that the increase of the above named Girls which may be born by or before the day and date above mentioned are to be free at the same date of July Eighteen hundred and nineteen hereby acknowledging the said negroes discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors or administrators after the several dates aforesaid. Witness my hand and seal this ninth day of July in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and Three Test Richard Weems (seal) James Mackubin Robert Welch Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County Sc.t on the 9.th day of July 1803. Then came Richard Weems before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning |
