140 heirs executors and administrators in the manner and form above mentioned viz Dinah to be free on the first day of March eighteen hundred and seventeen and her increase as follows Males at the age of Twenty one years and females at the age of Twenty five years Sarah to be free on the first day of march Eighteen hundred and Twenty seven. As Witness my hand and seal this 21.st day of april Eighteen Hundred and Three Witness Rich.d Merriken Jurningham Drury (seal) Charles Drury Ann Arundel County on the 21.st day of April in the year of our lord 1803 appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the within named Jerningham Drury party to the within instrument of writing who acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the signature and seal to be respectively his acknowledged before Richard Merriken Recorded 30th April 1803 Know all men by these presents That I Catharine Shipley for divers good causes and considerations as well the regard I bear to the fidelity and upright obedience heretofore shewn me thereto moving Do hereby exonerate acquit liberate release manumit and set at free and full liberty one negro man named Sam known by the name of Shipleys Sam and one negro woman the wife of said Sam named |
