138 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Randolph Brandt Latimer of the City of Annapolis in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money of the United States of America to me in hand paid have released from Slavery manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Priss being of the age of about Thirty three years and has but one Leg but able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Priss I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and Three Signed Sealed and delivered R. B. Latimer (seal) In the presence of us Lewis Duvall John H. Clements On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar current money being the consideration money within mentioned Witness Lewis Duvall R.
