134 viz Negro Frederick to be free on the tenth day of December next. As witness my hand and seal this Twenty second day of February Eighteen Hundred and Three Signed Sealed and delivered In presence of Joseph Selby Leonard Gary (seal) James N Weems On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County Sc.t On the Twenty second day of February in the year of our lord Eighteen hundred and three appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the within named Leonard Gary party to the within Instrument of writing who acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively his Acknowledged before Joseph Sebly Recorded 22 day of February 1803 I Walter Harrison of Ann Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby set free from bondage my slave James Hall Thirty years of age and do for myself my heirs executors and administrators release unto the said Slave all my right and claim whatsoever of property or right of service of and in the said slave hereby declaring the said slave free without any interruption from me or any person claiming under me.
