128 hinderance or disturbance of me the said Bennett Darnall or any other person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim any right or title to the said Susannah William Philip or Henry by from or under me. Hereby freely acquitted released exonerated and discharged to the said Susannah William Philip and Henry by these presents In witness whereof I the said Bennett Darnall hath hereunto sett my hand and affixed my seal this Twentieth day of November 1802 Signed Sealed & delivered Bennett Darnall (seal) In the presence of Sam Harrison On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the Twentieth day of November in the year Eighteen hundred and Two personally appeared Bennett Darnall party to the within deed before me one of the Justices of Anna Arundel County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed to and for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and agreeable to the form of the late act of assembly in full case made and provided acknowledged before 3½ Recorded 3.d December 1802 Sam Harrison I hereby manumit and Declare to be henceforth free a mulatto Man commonly Called old Shoemaker John now calling himself John Joyce formerly my Slave in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred Dollars paid to William Watson my Clerk by M.r Samuel Hopkins for the freedom |
