126 Anne Arundel County Then Came the within named Mary Records before me one of the Justices of the piece for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her act and deed Recorded 4 October 1802 Richard Merriken Ex.d Know all men by these presents That I Eleanor Davidson of the City of Annapolis and State of Maryland do hereby manumit make free and declare to be free from and after the first day of December next ensuing the date hereof a certain negro girl called Hager which said negro Girl was by me purchased at the public sale of my late husband John Davidson his personal estate. In Witness whereof I the said Eleanor Davidson do hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty seventh day of November Eighteen hundred and Two Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Gerrard Briscoe Eleanor Davidson (seal) Henry H.
