119 Ex.d I John Ashton of the County of Anne Arundel in the State of Maryland do hereby set free from bondage my negro man named Ragus Berry aged about thirty two years and do for myself my executors and administrators release unto the said Ragus Berry all my right and all claim whatsoever as to his person or to any estate he may acquire hereby declaring the said Ragus Berry absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person claiming under me In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twentieth day of April in the year of our lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Two Sealed and delivered In the presence of John Ashton (seal) Allen Quynn Thomas Harwood of Rd On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t State of Maryland ff On the 20th day of April in the year of our lord 1802 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County John Ashton party to the above instrument of writing who acknowledged the said instrument to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively his Recorded 26 May 1802 Allen Quynn |
