117 Eighteen hundred and eleven Negro Abraham to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and Thirteen Negro Ephraim to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and fifteen Negro Ely to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and sixteen Negro Joseph to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and Eighteen Negro Zack to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and sixteen In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Seventh day of may eighteen hundred and Two Signed Sealed & delivered Charles Hammond of Ch.s (seal) In presence of Jn.o Cord Henry Cord On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit; Ann Arundel County ss.t On the seventh day of may Eighteen hundred and Two Charles Hammond (of Charles) before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid acknowledged the within manumition to be his act and deed and the negroes therein mentioned to be free according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before 4¼ Recorded 14th may 1802 Jn.o Cord Ex.d Whereas I Horatio Ridout of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland am at this time legally possessed of and entitled to a certain negro man slave named Jacob about forty one or forty two years of age who formerly belonged to Robert Goldsborough Esquire of Dorchester County deceased and being desirous to give freedom to the said negro Jacob |
