113 Know all Men by these presents That I Charles Wallace of Annapolis Maryland do hereby manumit make free and declare to be free at the end of ten years from this date viz On the eleventh day of March Eighteen hundred and twelve a certain negro man called Prince, who, on the seventeenth day of February eighteen hundred and one was by a certain Joseph Caverly conveyed by deed unto me and John Muir and of and to which negro the said Muir hath this day by deed assigned transferred conveyed released and confirmed bargained and sold to me all his the said Muirs share right title interest claim and demand In Witness whereof I the said Charles Wallace do hereto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of March eighteen Hundred and two signed Sealed and delivered In presence of Cha Wallace (seal) James Mackubin Sam Maynard J.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit; On the eleventh day of March eighteen hundred and two before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County Charles Wallace acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed and that thereby the within named negro Prince is intended to be set free and manumitted on the eleventh day of March eighteen hundred and Twelve Recorded 13.th march 1802 James Mackubin |
