112 Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Court of Anne Arundel in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit and set free the following eight negroes to wit, Dinah a woman aged about 37 years William a Boy aged about 16 years Nelly a Girl aged about 12 years, George a Boy aged about 9 years Ben a Boy aged about 7 years Daniel a Boy aged about 5 years Philip a Boy aged about 3 years and John a Boy aged about 6 weeks And I do hereby for myself my heirs executors and administrators renounce and quit all claim and right to the said Eight negroes As witness my hand and seal this Twentieth day of February Eighteen Hundred and Two Signed and Sealed In the presence of Joseph Court (seal) Ben Carr (of Rich) John H D Lane On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann Arundel County sc February 20.th 1802 Then Came Joseph Court before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Recorded 10.th March 1802 Benj.a Allein |
