114 Ex.d Know all men by these presents that we Nicholas Ridgely Warfield Thomas Mockbee John Dorsey son of Caleb and William Hammond son of W.m all of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland and Allen Dorsey son of Joshua, of Baltimore County and State aforesaid being possessed of a negro Slave named Charles (a son of Nick and Judy) aged about forty three years who formerly belonged to Charles Carroll of Carrollton Esquire and company in Iron Works And we the said Nicholas Ridgely Warfield Thomas Mockbee John Dorsey William Hammond and Allen Dorsey being willing and desirous to grant to the said Slave his freedom do by these presents for divers good causes and considerations manumit and set free the said negro Slave. And we the said Nicholas Ridgely Warfield Thomas Mockbee John Dorsey William Hammond and Allen Dorsey for ourselves our heirs executors and administrators do by these presents grant to and the aforesaid negro Slave his freedom. In witness whereof we have hereto set our hands and seals this Eighth day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and two Signed Sealed and delivered N.
