106 I William Murray of Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland do hereby set free from bondage my negroe man named Anthony and do for my self my heirs executors and administrators release unto said negroe Anthony all my right and all my claim whatsoever as to his person or any estate he may acquire hereby declaring the above mentioned negroe Anthony absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person claiming under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and two Sealed and delivered In the presence of W Murray (seal) Thomas McPherson Nicholas Rogers Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County sct Be it remembered that on the first day of January one thousand eight Hundred and two came William Murray and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed agreeable to an act of assembly in such cases made and provided and for the purposes within mentioned acknowledged before Thos Tongue Recorded 20th January 1802 Exd To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I John Brewer of the City of Annapolis and State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted |
