105 act and deed and the within named negroes to be free according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Recorded 6th January 1802 Walter Worthington Ex.d Maryland ss.t To all whom these presents shall come Greeting I Elijah Gray of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland planter for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumit and Enfranchise the two negroes following To wit Daniel aged Three years last August and Edmond aged one year next December to be free when they shall be thirty years of age hereby acknowledging the said negroes discharged from all claimes of service and right of property whatsoever from me my heirs executors or administrators on the time above mentioned As witness my hand and seal this 19.th day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Two Signed Sealed and Elijah Gray (seal) In the presents of James Mackubin Robert Welch Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County sct on the 19th day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and two personally appeared before me me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County afforesaid above named Elijah Gray Party to the above instrument of writing who acknowledged the said instrument to be his act and deed and the signature and seal there annexed to be respectively his acknowledged before me Recorded 19 January 1802 James Mackubin |
