103 for these good causes and weighty considerations I the said Ann Howard for myself my heirs administrators and assigns for ever doth hereby agree to discharge and set free my negroes in manner and form as follows To wit; First my negro Man by the name of Williby to go free at my death secondly my negro woman by the name of Rebecah to be free at my death Thirdly, my negro Girl by the name of Eliza to be free at my death and all the increase that may spring from my negro Rebecah or Eliza to serve me The mails untill they thirty and the female children untill they are Twenty five throughout their generations unless I the said Ann Howard should die without Issues and if I do then all the increase of the said Rebecah and Eliza are to be free the mail children at the age of Twenty one and all the femail children at the age of sixteen years and I do heareby for my self my heirs executors administrators and assigns warrant and defend the freedom of the ssd negroes and every of them hearby emancipated against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming or that shall claim the above said negroes or any right or Title to any of them after the dates above mentioned As witness I heare heare unto set my hand and affix my seal this first day of January Eighteen hundred and Two Signed Sealed and delivered her In the presents of Ann + Howard (seal) Walter Worthington mark Mary Howard On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel Ct.y sc.t I Certify that the within named Ann Howard came before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for afors.d County and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to |
