Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Delilah Ridgely
aged about thirty three years about five feet half an
Inch high dark Complexion has a small scar on the
back of the left hand is one of the persons manumitted
by James L Hopkins by deed dated the fourteenth
day of January Eighteen hundred and and thirty nine and
that she was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 23 day of april 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Jem Peterson
aged about thirty years about five feet seven and a half
Inches high brown complexion has a small scar on the
left side of the upper lip, and another over the Corner of
the right eye is one of the persons manumitted by Basil
Shepphard by deed dated the twenty seventh day of July one
thousand Eight hundred and sixteen, and that his freedom
commenced in the year Eighteen hundred and forty and
that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 28 day of april 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named William
Smith aged about twenty one years about five feet
six and half inches high black Complexion has a
small scar on the back of the neck and another on
the left wrist was free born and that he was raised
in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 1st day of may 1844
