Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Maria [illegible]
aged about fifty years about five feet one Inch dark
complexion has a small mole upon the upper lip is one
of the persons manumitted by Nathaniel Chew by deed
dated the first day of october in the year one thousand
Eight hundred and twenty four and that she was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 1st day of may 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that the bearer hereof named
Peter [illegible] aged about twenty three years about five
feet six inches high dark Complexion has a small scar
near the Corner of the right eye is one of the persons
manumitted by Nathaniel Chew by deed dated the first
day of october in the year one thousand Eight hundred and
twenty four and that he was raised in the County
aforesaid
    Issued the 1 day of may 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Jerry Ross
aged about forty years about five feet five and one half
Inches high brown Complexion has a scar on the back
of the left hand is one of the persons manumitted by
John Ridgely by deed dated the sixth day of april in
the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and
thirty six and that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 6 day of June 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Alice Ross
aged about twenty one years about five feet three and a
