48 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro boy named James Caine about fifteen years of age about five feet two and an half inches high of a brown complexion with a small scar upon the right arm was free born and that the said negro boy James Caine was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 7.th day of March 1815 This Cert.e destroyed and ren.d as in folio 156 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Peter Goold aged about Eight years, about five feet Eleven Inches high of a brownish Complexion with a small scar under the right Ear and the first Joint of the little finger of the left hand crooked and stiff is the same person manumitted by Joseph Stansbury by deed dated the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifteen; and that the said Peter Goold was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 11th day of March 1815 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto man named James Meredith aged about twenty six years about five feet ten and one half Inches high of a bright Complexion marked in the face with the small pox and a small scar along by the corner of the right eye was free born; and that the said James Meredith was raised in Queen Annes County Issued the 13th day of March 1815 |
