Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1831

Inches high yellowish Complexion has two scars
on the forehead over the left eye at the root of the
hair, one on the left side of the head, and two on
the left hand was free born and raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 13 day of January 1827


    Maryland Anne Arundel County sc   I hereby
Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that
it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof named Lloyd aged about twenty
three years about five feet four Inches high
black Complexion has two scars over the right
eye, another near the right nostril and several
scars on the right arm is one of the persons
manumitted by Margaret Hopkins by deed
dated the twentieth day of August Eighteen
hundred and thirteen, that his freedom
Commenced on the first day of January Eighteen
hundred and twenty five, and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 13th day of January 1827


    Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit
              I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or
may Concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Lewis
Hawkins aged about Twenty two years about
five feet six and three quarter Inches high
dark Complexion a small scar near the Corner of
the right eye, and another on the right Cheek was
free born, and raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 24 day of January 1827
