The State of Maryland Anne Arundel
County to Wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an Examination of the Records and papers in the office of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and testament of Rezin H Elijah Redmond late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing date the twenty seventh day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty was proved and recorded in the said office on the nineteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one in Liber T T S N.o 1 folio 125 and that the said Elijah Redmond by his said Will among other things did devise and direct that his negro woman ^named^ Flora should be free at the death of him the said Elijah Redmond And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony as is Satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof negro Flora whose height is about five feet one and a half inches; whose age is about forty four years; whose Complexion is dark; and who as appears by the said Will and testimony became free sometime in December last is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Flora was raised in Anne Arundel County has a scar on the right arm below the elbow In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name (Seal) and affixed the seal of my office this Sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty two Tho.s T. N.o 1 folio 125 and that the said Elijah Redmond by his said Will among other things did devise and direct that his negro Girl named Eliza should be free at the death of the him the said Elijah Redmond And I do further Certify that it hath been proved by such Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof negro Eliza whose height is about five feet four and a quarter inches; whose age is about Sixteen years; whose Complexion is yellow; and who as appears by the said Will and testimony became free sometime in December last is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Eliza was raised in Anne Arundel County has a scar on the left arm below the Elbow In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed (Seal) the seal of my office this Sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty two Tho.s T. Simmons Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County |
