the Seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and fourteen in Liber I G N.o 3 folio 57 and that the said
Bryan Williams by his said Will among other things did devise and direct
that his negro boy Tom should receive his freedom at the age of twenty
five years
                And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony
as is Satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Tom whose height is
about five feet six inches; whose age is about twenty Six years; whose complexion
is light; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony became free in
December Eighteen hundred and thirty is the identical person who was manumitted
or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Tom was raised in Anne Arundel
County and has a Scar on the Joint of the fore finger and middle finger of the left
hand
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name
        (Seal)           and affixed the seal of my office this 16.th day of November
                            in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one
                            Thomas T. Simmons Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County


       The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
             I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern That on
an examination of the Records and Papers in the office of the Register
of Wills for Anne Arundel County it Appears That the last Will and
testament of Rezin Hammond late of the County aforesaid dec.d
bearing date the 29.th day of September Eighteen hundred and eight
was proved and Recorded in the said Office on the 18.th day of September
in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine
In Liber I. G. N.o 2 fol. 469 and That the said Rezin Hammond
by his said Will among other things did devise and direct That
Negro John should be free as soon as he arrived to the age of
thirty    and I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such
testimony as is satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof negro John
whose height is About five feet three and a half Inches whose
age is about thirty two years whose complexion is yellow and who as
Appears by the said will and testimony became free in
in eighteen hundred and twenty nine has a scar on the
back of the left hand and one on the first Joint of the
forefinger of the same hand is the Identical person who was
manumitted or freed as aforesaid and That the said negroe
John was raised in Anne Arundel County.  In testimony whereof
I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of my
office this 28.th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirty one
