    The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit
                        I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that
on an Examination of the Records and Papers in the office of the Register of
Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last will and testament
of Thomas Bird late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing date the Ninth
day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty
six was proved and recorded in the said office on the fourth day of May
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six in
Liber T H H N.o 1 folio 283 and that the said Thomas Bird by his said
Will among other things did devise and direct that his negro servant named
Osborn should be free at the age of twenty one years which would be in the
year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty two from the date of his said Will
                    And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony
as is satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof negro Osborn whose height is
about five feet seven inches; whose age is about twenty one years; whose
complexion is mulatto; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony
became free on the ninth day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty two
is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the
said negro Osborn was raised in Anne Arundel County.  Has no perceptible marks
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and
        (Seal)           affixed the seal of my office this Eighteenth day of February in the
                            year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty two
                            Thomas T. Simmons Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County


       The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
            I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that
on an Examination of the Records and Papers in the office of the Register of
Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last will and
testament of Joshua Powell late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing
date the Twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand Eight hundred and ten, was proved and recorded in the said
Office on the first day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand
Eight hundred and ten in Liber I G N.o 2 folio 449 &c and that the
said Joshua Powell by his said will among other things did devise
and direct that his negro servant named Joshua should be free
as soon as he arrived to the age of twenty one years, which would be
in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty nine from the
date of his said will
             And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such
Testimony as is Satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Joshua
whose height is about five feet seven inches; whose age is about Twenty
four years; whose complexion is bright yellow; and who as appears by
the said Will and Testimony became free some time in the year Eighteen
