       I, SAMUEL BROWN, Junr. Register of Wills for
Anne Arundel County, do hereby Certify and Attest, that it
appears from the last Will and Testament of Elizabeth
Smith late of the County aforesaid, deceased, that
she did by her said Will, Manumit, Liberate and
set Free, a Negro Boy by the name of Sam
Talbot and it being proved to my satisfaction that
the Bearer hereof is the identical person as Freed by said Will,
I do Certify that he is in height five feet five
inches, is about the age of Twenty Seven years, Light
Complexion, and was Freed by the last Will and Testament of
the said Elizabeth Smith dated the
Twentieth day of March eighteen
hundred and Eighteen was raised in Anne Arundel
County and has no perceptible scars
                      In Testimony whereof, I have
                            hereto set my hand, and affixed the
                            Seal of my Office, this Twenty Seventh
                            day of October in the
                            year of our Lord eighteen hundred  
                            and Forty
