William Jones known to me as the party to the aforegoing
instrument of writing and acknowledges the aforegoing
instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the
true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly
in such case made and provided

Bill of sale from Alexander Randall
to Nicholas Owens dated the thirteenth
day of March eighteen hundred and forty six
This Indenture
made this this
thirteenth day of
March in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six between
Alexander Randall of the City of Annapolis in the State of Maryland
of the one part and Nicholas Owens of Anne Arundel County
in the State aforesaid of the other part  Whereas the said Alexander
Randall did upon the nineteenth day of July in the year
eighteen hundred and forty four purchase of John Johnson and
Thomas S. Alexander certain negroes and obtained from them
a deed conveying the same as will more fully and at large appear
by reference to such deed recorded in Liber W. S. G. No 2 folio 342
one of the personal deed record Books of Anne Arundel County
among whom were two girls one called Louisa and then aged
thirteen years and one named Eliza then aged seven which
girles and their issue in perpetuity were to serve the said Randall
his Executors and assigns until such time as they severally
should attain unto the age of thirty five years  And whereas
the said Randall hath sold the said two negroes girls to the
said Nicholas Owens at and for the sum of three hundred
twenty five dollars to serve until they severally attain the
age of thirty five years and their issue in perpetuity to serve
until they shall each attain the age of thirty five years
Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Alexander Randall
for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration
of the sum of three hundred and twenty five dollars to him in
hand paid by the said Owens the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and delivered and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the
said Owens the above described two negroes Louisa and Eliza
To Have and To Hold them and their issue to serve until they
severally attain the age of thirty five years the said Nicholas Owens
his Executors administrators and assigns.  In Testimony whereof the
